Conventional Sounder Monitoring

Check the Conventional Sounder circuits for open and short circuit fault detection.

Main Panels and Repeaters with Integrated Sub-panels have two Conventional Sounder circuits.

Standard Sub-panels have two Conventional Sounder circuits.

Disconnect either the + or the - connection for each Conventional Sounder circuit in turn. Confirm

that a fault is reported within a few seconds. On Standard Sub-panels the amber LOCAL FAULT LED

should also be illuminated.

Restore the original connections and press SYSTEM RESET to clear the error reports.

Connect the + to the - at the Conventional Sounder connection terminals. Confirm that a fault is

reported within a few seconds. On Standard Sub-panels the amber LOCAL FAULT LED should also be

illuminated.

Remove the short circuits and press SYSTEM RESET to clear the fault reports.

if the Conventional Sounder outputs are short circuited while the sounders are active, the

electronic overload protection is tripped and the system will report a sounder fault. Once the short

circuit is cleared, a system reset will clear the faults.
